Relics recovered on Pickett’s Charge field by local Gettysburg resident John Cullison, who excavated relics on the field from 1935-1959. Cullison sold his collection to the famed Gettysburg Rosensteel family, whole held these relics in their private collection until released in 1996.

Relic box includes:

  • fragment of 20 pound U.S. Parrott shell – fired by Taft’s Battery in Evergreen Cemetery, the only 20 pounder U.S. guns on the field
  • .577 caliber C.S. Enfield bullet with box wood plug
  • lead C.S. case shot; steel U.S. case shot
  • .44 caliber pistol ball for Colt Army Revolver; soldier’s spoon
  • three .58 caliber U.S. Minie Balls
  • fired .52 caliber U.S. Sharps bullet
  • fired and struck .69 caliber musket ball
  • C.S. iron grapeshot
  • .54 caliber Minie Ball for Mississippi rifle
  • .58 caliber U.S. star in base bullet
  • half of artillery mule shoe
  • two C.S. nose cast Minie Balls
  • intact U.S. Williams Cleaner bullet
  • C.S. field-made .69 caliber musket ball with sprue
  • intact .52 caliber Spencer cartridge for rifle or carbine
