Relics recovered on Pickett’s Charge field by local Gettysburg resident John Cullison, who excavated relics on the field from 1935-1959. Cullison sold his collection to the famed Gettysburg Rosensteel family, whole held these relics in their private collection until released in 1996.

The items in the relic box include:

  • a Broken Hilt from Foot Officer Sword
  • two CS .58 caliber Gardner Minie Balls
  • Enfield .577 caliber bullet, Band from Artillery Yoke Pole
  • four small case shots
  • Soldier’s razor blade
  • US William’s Cleaner Bullet
  • Soldier’s Camp Knife
  • Spencer .52 caliber cartridge base and fired spencer bullet
  • remnant of Soldier’s spoon
  • bell striker from Camp Cook Wagon
  • two fired US .58 caliber minie balls
  • two .69 caliber musket balls
  • four crude iron case shots.
