Relics recovered on Pickett’s Charge field by local Gettysburg resident John Cullison, who excavated relics on the field from 1935-1959. Cullison sold his collection to the famed Gettysburg Rosensteel family, whole held these relics in their private collection until released in 1996.

The box contains the following:

Base of a Mullane shell. (Mistakenly listed as a canister plate on label)

Used artillery friction primer

Two case shot balls

1 fired and 1 dropped .58 Gardner bullets

Brass housing for Schenkl percussion fuse

1 fired and 1 dropped .58 minie balls

2 large iron canister balls

Iron ring from an artillery implement

Hand forged iron ring

2 iron canister balls

 

All items are in good condition with light surface rust.
