This photo was taken in the early 1950’s of The Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic trip to the Gettysburg Battlefield. It was taken at the “High Water Mark” area of the battlefield. Also present in the photo are the American Legion, Sons of Union Veterans, a marching band, and the 6th Infantry Field Music Pennsylvania Brigade from Harrisburg. In the background of the photo one can see several landmarks on the battlefield including the Copse of Trees, the National Tower, and monuments to the 39th New York, 59th New York, 1st New York Battery, 42nd New York, 69th PA, 72nd PA, 106th PA, 4th Maine, and 11th New York Battery.
Black and white photo is in excellent condition and measures 24 ½” x 3 ½”.
