This face of the box plate has a green patina. Detail is very good. Edge of plate has small dings, and left edge has broken off. Some surface dirt is present.  Reverse has lead fill and two of the puppy paw hooks are present. On reverse is a faded modern notation in gold printing; at top appears to be "Spanglers Spring".  The remainder is faded to illegibility.

Plate was recovered from Spangler Spring in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. It was previously owned by George Marinos, owner of the S.G. Marinos Co. museum on Baltimore Pike in Gettysburg. A card accompanies this plate with a description written and signed by George Marinos.  [SH]
