Uncleaned nose and body portion of a US Hotchkiss shell in dug condition. No base cup, and no sabot. Fuse plug has lost its head, but the body remains screwed into the channel. Surface shows heavy rust and pitting. Recovered from Gettysburg on the Daniel Lady farm, about 600 yards east of the barn.  [jt]
