Uncleaned nose and body portion of a US Hotchkiss shell in dug condition. No base cup, and no sabot. Fuse is missing. There are no flame grooves. Surface shows heavy rust and pitting. Recovered from Gettysburg on the Daniel Lady farm, about 600 yards east of the barn. [jt]
