These buttons were recovered by relic hunter Ed Miller at Gettysburg, west of Willoughby’s Run. Miller was a lifelong local who is well known to the Small family. Mr. Miller was an active relic hunter from the 1960's into the 1980's.
Coat button has a dark brown patina. Shank is present on reverse as well as maker’s mark that reads, “WATERBURY BUTTON CO.”.
Cuff button retains much of the original gilt. Shank is present on reverse and maker’s mark, “WATERBURY BUTTON CO.”. [sm]
