TIPTON STEREO VIEW OF DEVIL’S DEN

$115.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: P13278

Image is mounted on yellow stock. One edge is marked “ARTISTIC STEREO GEMS OF GETTYSBURG SCENERY” and the other states that the image is by W. H. Tipton.

The view shows some of the large boulders in Devil’s Den. These particular boulders are more commonly seen in an image taken by Weaver showing soldiers in Gettysburg for the cemetery dedication posing as battle casualties.

The view number is very light but the first number is hard to read. The number looks to be 586 and is captioned “AT DEVIL’S DEN.” The contrast of the image is good and the mount is clean. Reverse is blank.   [ad]
