$950.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 476-94

Confederate 12-pounder shell recovered from the Gettysburg battlefield.  The round was found on the field at Gettysburg after the battle and the artifact was formerly comprised part of the collection of Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) Post Number 9, Gettysburg, PA.  The shell is stamped with a “C” – which denotes either manufacturer or inspector (to date, “C” marked Confederate shells have only been found on battlefields in Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania).  The shell is inert and the condition is exceptional/near mint!  It also comes with a museum quality hardwood base with attractive brass placard.  Shell has been varnished, and has in white lettering, “GETTYSBURG / PA GAR POST 9”. Here’s your opportunity to own a very nice Confederate artillery projectile from Gettysburg with wonderful provenance!
