$450.00 ON HOLD

Quantity Available: 1

Item Code: 286-270

This excavated plate has a nice brass face with chocolate brown patina. The detail on the eagle is very good. The reverse has 99.9% of the lead fill. Both iron hooks have rusted away. This was recovered across from Flohrs Church between McKightstown and Cashtown along the retreat route. It had been displayed at a Bed & Breakfast and has a modern label stating “UNION EAGLE BREAST PLATE RECOVERED ON THIS PROPERTY.” The property was a toll house on the old Chambersburg Pike in 1858.
