Label on tin can reads, “KETTLE RENDERED PURE LARD, PUT UP BY GEORGE REICHLE, GETTYSBURG, PA.”. Brass knobs hold the handle to the can.
Can measures 7 ¾” high x 7 ½” across the top. Some light surface scratches and rust are present all over.
This is a nice Gettysburg souvenir from a local business. Reichle’s butcher shop is known to have been located at 39 Baltimore St. in the early 1900’s – uncertain how long the shop was in operation. [sm]
