This booklet was prepared by the Pennsylvania State Commission for the 1938 reunion of veterans in Gettysburg. The forward reads, “That this nation shall forever endure under the guidance of a lasting peace….that the fellowship and brotherhood of man shall be imperishably instilled in all generations….that the spirit of Christian tolerance shall never wane….this booklet is hereto dedicated.”
Following this are photographs and statements from President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Pennsylvania Governor John S. Rice, and Secretary of War Harry H. Woodring. Booklet has the schedule of events for the reunion which spanned the dates of July 1-4, 1938. There are pictures of commissioners and planners involved in the reunion, and of the Eternal Peace Memorial.
Text contains 12 pages. Program measures 9 ¼” x 12”. Very good condition, with two tiny tears on the front cover. Some yellowing has occurred with age. [sm]
