Classic style early Gettysburg souvenir made by local resident John Goode of Gettysburg. His woodworking / cabinet shop was located off Race Horse Alley in town. Desk set features a small, four-sided ink well, fired CS .58 caliber Gardner Patent Minie Ball, US .58 caliber fired Minie Ball, small artillery shell fragment, US general service enlistedman’s cuff button, and two iron case shot balls. Stamped in front, “WOOD FROM MEADE’S HEADQUARTERS”. Wood measures 3 5/8” x 2 ¼” x ¾”. [ws]
