This book features nine pages that fold out with views of the Gettysburg Battlefield. Some are lithographs and others are photos by the well-known photographer William H. Tipton. Inside of back cover is stamped with, “W.H. TIIPTON, THE BATTLE FIELD PHOTOGRAPHER, GETTYSBURG…PA.”.
Photographs are various sized views of Gettysburg, laid out in a collage style. Views include East Cemetery Hill, Cyclorama painting, the Jennie Wade House, Pennsylvania Memorial, Soldier’s National Cemetery, Little Round Top, G.K. Warren statue, General Lee’s & General Meade’s Headquarters, Devil’s Den, the Soldier’s National Monument, Hancock Avenue, the Wheatfield, the New York Memorial, General Lee’s & General Meade’s Headquarters, Hancock Avenue, Gettysburg College, the Valley of Death, plus many more.
Measures 6 ½” x 9 ¼”. Book is covered in red boards which have an embossed image of a battle scene and the book’s title in black.
This is a nice, vintage Gettysburg collectible. [SM]
