FRAMED KEY TO THE CYCLORAMA PAINTING OF THE BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG

$395.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 889-92

The Battle of Gettysburg painting also known as the Gettysburg Cyclorama was painted by French artist Paul Philippoteaux, depicting Pickett’s Charge, the fury of the final Confederate assault on the 3rd of July, 1863.

In 2006 the Gettysburg Cyclorama underwent a $13 million rehabilitation project. Conservation specialists from Olin Associates repaired sections of the canvas and restored original detail lost over time. Included with the key is a piece of the original painted canvas measuring 1 3/8” x 2 ½”, with green and sky blue paint. It also includes “dust” removed during the renovation. This unique item was purchased at a silent auction from Friends of Gettysburg in April, 2014.

The key is in very good condition with folds; nice modern frame and mat. Overall measures 20” x 29”. Some minor damage to bottom of frame.   [ws]

Extra shipping required - $35.00 insured UPS ground east of the Mississippi, $50.00 west of the Mississippi.
