US Model 1858 smooth-side canteen in fair condition. One side is severely dented while the other has a moderate sized dent at center. Both sides have residue of gold paint and rust. Visible on one side in red paint is “…..1863 ….TYSBURG PA.” The number “3” appears to be painted backward. The spout is present as are the three sling keepers. The side-seam is tight except under the bottom sling keeper where there is a hole.
