Heavy cast license plate which meas. approx. 11.75 inches long x 6.00 inches wide. The plate has a raised edge with scalloped corners. The body of the plate is painted dark blue and has raised lettering highlighted in yellow paint that reads “75TH ANNIVERSARY BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG.” Below this in smaller lettering is “JUNE 29-JULY 6, 1938.” This lettering is done in alternating red, white and blue paint.
The face of the plate shows light to moderate wear from use, age and storage. The paint on the raised lettering is worn thin is some spots while the blue backing has some chips. [AD]
