Excavated iron canister ball fired from a 12-pounder smoothbore cannon. Iron ball is 1 ½” in diameter. Rusty and moderately pitted.

Recovered 300 yards north of the Trostle farm house at Gettysburg in the 1960s, this relic was once part of the Iva Rosensteel collection. Mrs. Rosensteel is the sister of George Rosensteel, who started the Electric Map museum in Gettysburg. Eventually, it became a part of the Rider collection in Gettysburg, which remained in the family until The Horse Soldier purchased the collection in June 2016.  [jet]
