Triangular brass knapsack hook for attaching shoulder strap to bottom of pack. Brass surface has a darkened patina.

Willoughby Run is a tributary of Marsh Creek. This shallow stream bordered the Edward McPherson Farm on the Chambersburg Pike. Fighting occurred here on the first day of the battle of Gettysburg on July 1, 1863. Relics were recovered from this area where a golf course once was located.      [SM]
