Found by local resident and relic hunter John Cullison who excavated relics on the field from 1935-1959 and who found this plate on the southern part of the battlefield at Gettysburg. A wonderful olive patina, with both iron hooks intact. Choice face with a nice lead back. This plate was later purchased by the Rosensteel family of Gettysburg and was part of their personal collection until it was sold to The Horse Soldier C1991/1992.
