Caption reads "Monument and Graves of 1st Minnesota Vol. in National Cemetery." Yellow mount. The 1st Minnesota made a well known charge on the afternoon of July 2nd. Facing a brigade sized force the Minnesota soldier's charged and defeated their foe but at a cost of 80% casualties. Some of the men killed in that charge lie here in the section of the National Cemetery pictured.
