Image shows the War Department plaque on a circular granite base that stands along Meredith Ave in Herbst’s Woods. The plaque relates the part taken by Archer’s Confederate brigade in the fight of July 1, 1863.

Visible in the background behind the marker is the roadbed for the old trolley line that traversed the battlefield.
