First edition volume is covered in dark green cloth. Title is embossed on the front and back covers, while the spine has the title embossed in gold.

Title page reads, “REVISED REPORT MADE TO THE LEGISLATURE OF PENNSYLVANIA, RELATIVE TO THE SOLDIERS’ NATIONAL CEMETERY, AT GETTYSBURG, EMBRACING AN ACCOUNT OF THE ORGIN OF THE UNDERTAKING; ADRESS OF HON. EDWARD EVERETT, AT ITS CONSECRATION, WITH THE DEDICATORY SPEECH OF PRESIDENT LINCOLN, AND THE OTHER EXCERCISES OF THAT EVENT; TOGETHER WITH THE ADDRESS OF MAJ. GEN. O. O. HOWARD, DELIVERED JULY 4, 1866, UPON THE DEDICATION OF THE SOLDIER’S NATIONAL MONUMENT, AND THE OTHER PROCEEDINGS UPON THAT OCCASION.” Published in Harrisburg by Singerly & Myers in 1867. Facing the title page is a beautiful lithograph image of the still yet to be erected, Soldiers’ National Monument.

Also contains an extract from Governor Curtin’s message, reports by Davis Wills, lists of names of the soldiers buried in the cemetery by state, list of articles removed from the bodies of the soldiers who were moved to the SNC, list of regiments, fold-out map of the grounds, and a map of the hospitals.

Book measures 6 ½” 9 ¾”. Text contains 282 pages. Binding is tight, with no pages missing. Corners are bent, scattered smudges or wear are present in areas.  [sm]
