This item is from Emily Rosensteel’s Gettysburg collection of bullets recovered at the "High Water Mark". This is one collecting opportunity of a lifetime to acquire original Federal and Confederate battlefield artifacts with a rare and unique provenance to the famous 'High Water Mark'. From the private Gettysburg collection of Emily Rosensteel (Mrs. George D. Rosensteel) comes this outstanding assemblage of fired and dropped lead minie balls that were found entirely on the battlefield's High Water Mark.

Emily married George Rosensteel, nephew to John H. Rosensteel, who lived through the three days of fighting in Gettysburg. John was also the founder of the well-known Rosensteel Collection; his nephew George, an avid relic collector himself, later built his own National Museum in Gettysburg. Resident Charles Williams, who eyeballed this grouping of battlefield bullets in the early part of the 20th century, sold them to George and Emily Rosensteel for their collection. The Rosensteel relic collection was later passed down to their daughter, Angela, who in 1941 married Larry Eckert. Eckert worked in his father-in-law's museum and operated the famed Electric Map until the property was sold to the U.S. government in 1972.

This cluster of Gettysburg High Water Mark minie balls and artifacts from Emily Rosensteel's private collection is one of several such relic groupings from various Gettysburg battlefield locations that The Horse Soldier will be releasing in the near future. A letter of authenticity from The Horse Soldier accompanies each purchase, including a photo of a tag that denotes where Charles Williams found these battle relics. This tag is not available for purchase.
