Excavated iron canister ball fired from a U.S. 3” cannon. Rusty and pitted. Approximately 1.2” in diameter. Small sticker attached “97B” which corresponds to old relic journal. Recovered from woods between Pennsylvania monument and Taneytown Road.

From the Iva Rosensteel-Rider collection.  Mrs. Rider was the sister of Georg Rosensteel, who started the Electric Map museum in Gettysburg. Eventually, it became a part of the Rider collection in Gettysburg, which remained in the family until The Horse Soldier purchased the collection in June 2016.   [jet]
