The view appears to have been taken from the area of the 16th Michigan monument looking just south of west.

Visible to the left front is Warren Ave and its intersection with Crawford Ave. Devil’s Den and Houck’s Ridge dominate the left to middle foreground along with a portion of the Valley of Death. Unlike today the area is heavily wooded, however the monument to the 4th Maine is visible as is the 99th Pennsylvania’s monument on top of the ridge. The 40th New York monument in the Valley of Death is also visible.

In the left distance are the multiple buildings of the Gettysburg Tea Room and Cottages and Warfield Ridge from where the Confederate attacks on Little Round Top began.

Image is in an old wood frame that meas. approx. 38.50 x 26.25 inches. Image is clear with good contrast and only a few age spots.  [ad]
