Measures 12.75” x 8.25”, matted in white, mounted in contemporary wood frame with plaster floral edging [measuring 16.5 x 21.5”], with reverse white-card backing & hang-wire. Exhibits a few small darkened age spots. Else VG, with attractive framing.

The 6th PA Cavalry served with Col. Devin’s brigade in manning the northern section of Gen. John Buford’s 1st Division cavalry line during the first day’s fight at Gettysburg. During its entire service this distinguished regiment lost 78 men killed and mortally wounded, and 89 by disease for a total of 167.
