The 6^th PA Cavalry served with Col. Devin’s brigade in manning the northern section of Gen. John Buford’s 1^st Division cavalry line during the first day’s fight at Gettysburg. During its entire service this distinguished regiment lost 78 men killed and mortally wounded, and 89 by disease for a total of 167.
