Item Code: 635-122

This red transferware gravy boat was made by Homer Laughlin China in the 1940’s as a commemoration of Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address. The scene is of Lincoln standing on the left of the Evergreen Cemetery Gatehouse with an American flag just behind him. Standing with Lincoln are Army officers and dignitaries and they face an audience of the public. The same scene is present on both sides of the gravy boat.  There is a floral design on the handle. No markings on bottom.

This dish is in excellent condition with no chips or dings. Some natural crackling occurs as transferware ages, which adds to its character.  Measures 7’ x 3 ¾” plus handle. 3 3/8” high.  [sl]
