This is a pin-back medal made as a souvenir for the 50th anniversary, in 1913, of the Battle of Gettysburg. A pin-back metal on top has a Massachusetts seal in the center surrounded by “50th ANNIVERSARY, BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG” and “MASSACHUSETTS” on the front. Suspended by two sets of links is another medal slightly larger. The front of this bottom medal reads, “REUNION OF VETERANS OF THE CIVIL WAR, GETTYSBURG, PA. 1913” around a bust image of Abraham Lincoln. Oak leaves surround the outer edge and are colored a light shade of green. Medal is clean with a dark copper patina. [jet]
