Item Code: 635-248

Here is a sturdy souvenir walking cane made of oak with a bullet embedded near the handle. It is attributed to Gettysburg because many similar specimens were made from the bullet-scarred tress on Culp’s Hill. This slender wooden cane measures 37" long. The top of the cane is approximately 1 ¼” in diameter with the cane tapering down its length. There is no bark on this specimen as it was professionally turned and has a smooth rounded top that gives the appearance of a broom stick. The entire surface length of the cane is smooth and without ornamentation. The significant detail being the smashed remnants of a bullet embedded about 3 ½” below the top.

A rare souvenir cane with bullet in the wood.  [jet]
