Stereoview of an engraving. The scene depicted is of a wounded General Hancock upon a stretcher being carried toward a waiting ambulance wagon. Entitled “Hancock Wounded at Gettysburg.” Images are clear with light fading and scattered soiling. Mounted on plain card stock with advertising printed on yellow back. “Gettysburg Battlefield Views,Published by MUMPER & CO., Photographic Artists, No. 25 Baltimore Street, Gettysburg, Pa.” A long list of views follows. Most interestingly, stamped on the front, to the right of the image, is “J.A. DANNER, BATTLE FIELD MUSEUM, GETTYSBURG, PA.” So, this was a stereo card made by Mumper and sold as a souvenir at Danner’s museum. Overall, this is in fair condition with clear image on a soiled mount with some small chips on the edges and corners. [jet]
