Relics were recovered on Pickett’s Charge field by John Cullison, a local Gettysburg resident, who excavated relics on the field from 1935-1959.

Cullison sold his collection to the famed Gettysburg Rosensteel family, who held these relics in their private collection until released in 1996.

The items in the relic box include: a CS “Southern Plantation Style” saddle stirrup, fired CS Ringtail Sharps Carbine bullet, two fired pistol balls -.44 and .36 caliber, two CS Gardner .58 caliber mine balls, fired Williams Cleaner bullet, remnant of fired Spencer Cartridge case, three Buckshot from Buck/Ball cartridge, two Soldier’s camp knives, US Sharps Carbine bullet, two fired .577 Enfield bullets, US .44 caliber Bartholow bullet for Colt Army revolver, two fired US .58 caliber minie balls, an two iron case shots.   [hs]
