General Service eagle coat button from the well-known Gettysburg Olinger collection. Button was recovered on the Schwartz farm which was a hospital site.
The item is very clean and in nice condition for a dug button. Back has the shank but no back mark. Face has original finish and a good stamping on the eagle.
The button comes with an old envelope with a scene from the Gettysburg cyclorama on the front and Olinger’s return address on the back. [sl]
