(Miss Anna E. Martin)…”has this day been reported to receive public commendation, for Good Conduct during the past week. No scholar is entitled to this Certificate who has received a mark of misdemeanor during the week.”

Solid Gettysburg collectible. The Gettysburg National Homestead orphanage, situated on the Baltimore Pike opposite East Cemetery Hill, was established for Civil War orphans, including the famous Humiston children.  [jp]
