Large framed image recorded at Devil’s Den. Frame is 10 ½” x 12 ½” and the image itself is approximately 7” x 9 ½”.
Several veterans and their wives pose at the foot of Devil’s Den wearing G.A.R. ribbons. Photo has good detail and contrast. Across the bottom of the mount reads, “W.H. TIPTON PHOTO. TIPTON’S GETTYSBURG PHOTOGRAPHS. GETTYSBURG, PA”. Verbal history suggests one of the men in the photo is Lt. M. Leyden, 3rd NY Cavalry. [jet]
It appears that the frame contains plexiglass; we can remove the image from the modern frame if requested for shipment.
