RELIC US PATTERN 1839 BELT PLATE FROM GETTYSBURG

$295.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 1054-1640

This Federal belt plate is of the regulation 1839 pattern and was recovered from an unspecified site at Gettysburg. Constructed in the die-struck and rolled brass method, the brass accoutrement’s face shows a clear “US” with one dent across the “S” some oxidation overall. Lead filled back retains 98% of lead fill. No maker’s mark. This is the style with “puppy-paw” hooks; all three hooks remain.  A nice relic in very good “dug” condition.  [jet]
