Brown cloth covered book has title in gold gilt. Title page reads, “NOTES ON THE REBEL INVASION OF MARYLAND & PENNSYLVANIA AND THE BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG JULY 1ST, 2d AND 3d 1863. ACCOMPANIED BY AN EXPANATORY MAP. BY M. JACOBS, PROFESSOR OF MATHEMATICS AND CHEMISTRY IN PENNSYLVANIA COLLEGE, GETTYSBURG. PHILADELPHIA: J.B. LIPPINCOTT & CO. 1864”.

Inside of front cover is a hand inscription that reads, “A.B. HASSLER FROM JUDGE CHAS. I. LANDIS NOV 28, 1918”.

Book measures 4 ¾” by 7 ½”. Text contains 47 pages. Binding is tight. Map has been removed from front of book, which is typical. Pages are yellowed and spotted with age. No torn pages except for an end paper at the back.  [SL]
