Gavel is made from wood that was removed from the Lincoln Bedroom in the White House. Base that gavel rests on was made from wood at the Gettysburg Battlefield. Gavel has a brass label tacked on that reads, “ORIGINAL WHITE HOUSE MATERIAL REMOVED IN 1950". The Presidential seal is in the center of label. Gavel is tacked to base and swivels.
Underside of board has paper label that reads, “MR. J.D. LIPPY, JR. 161 SEMINARY AVE. GETTYSBURG, PA.”
Board measures 3 ¾” by 7”. Gavel measures 10” long by 3 ½” wide. Gavel shows a small hole on top that goes through to the front, otherwise wood is in very good condition. [sl]
