Bronze medal to commemorate New York veterans at the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg in 1913. Two-piece medal connected by a small ring. Top portion has a pin attached to reverse. Face features Union and Confederate soldiers shaking hands with “1863-1913 / NEW YORK-GETTYSBURG”. Lower, suspended portion is in the shape of a cross with military motifs on the ends of the arms and a central, raised medallion featuring profiles of Meade and Lee. Measures 2 ¾” long overall. [jet]
