Taken by the “Battlefield Photo Co.” Sepia colored, 16 X 10 image, mounted on thick black card, 12 x 14.25.” Image clean, crisp and attractive, featuring a large gathering including many women and wives.  Black mount slightly wavy, exhibiting light wear at the margins. Dated September 12, 1910.

The 20th New York was a two year regiment mustered into service, 5/17/ 1861. Attached to the 3rd Brigade, 2nd Division, 6th Army Corps, the unit participated in McClellan’s 1862 Campaign, and in the Battles of Antietam, Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville, before being mustered out, June 1st, 1863. During it lost 61 men killed and mortally wounded and 59 by disease for a total of 120.
