[7:00 am, July 1, 1863--8th Illinois Cav. officer, Lt. Marcellus Jones].” 13 miscellaneous pieces, including 9 bullets, 2 eagle cuff button, cannon ball fragment and 2nd Lieutenant bullion shoulder strap bar. Bullets include four intact “3 ringers”, two flattened—also two carbine bullets and one round shot. All housed in a wooden late 19th century display case, 8.875 x 10.75”, w/red felt matting, and reverse wooden back & hang-wire. Carved inscription on the reverse backing: “From the whistler Farm/At Gettysburg by the/ Great-Grandfather of / Larry Harrison of Altoona/ Before 1900.”

An attractive display, symmetrically arranged. Display exhibit minor wear and slight chipping. Blue tape marking at bottom- “Gettysburg-Relics.” Solid Gettysburg collectible from the singular location where the first shot was fired.  [JP]
