Small hardcover book was written by John E. Pitzer of the Pitzer House in Gettysburg, PA. Pitzer House was a hotel and restaurant on Chambersburg St. Title page reads, “PITZER’S CHART BOOK ARRANGED ESPECIALLY FOR BEGINNERS. CONTAINS ELEMENTARY INSTRUCTIONS. RHYTHMICS, MELODICS AND DYNAMICS, TRANSPOSITIONS OF THE SCALES, SOPRANO AND BASS, WITH LETTERS, NUMERALS AND NOTES, COMMON MINOR AND DOMINANT CHORDS FOR ACCOMPANYING SONGS, CHORUSES, ETC., ETC.”

Final page is an advertisement for a battlefield tour, which includes getting dinner in town at the Pitzer House.

Text contains 30 pages. Measures 4 ¾” by 6 ¼”. Cover shows yellow spotting. Binding is tight with no torn or missing pages.   [sl]

DUG ID TAG FOR JOSEPH FAGAN OF THE 1ST MARYLAND INFANTRY US
