Blue transferware plate features an image of the original museum and visitor center draped in patriotic swags. Wording reads, “GETTYSBURG NATIONAL MUSEUM, HOME OF THE ELECTRIC MAP, GETTYSBURG PA”. Above this are images of U.S. General George Meade and C.S. General Robert E. Lee. Also surrounding the center image are scenes of Gettysburg- Soldier’s National Cemetery, Soldier’s National Monument, Eternal Peace Light Monument, Virginia State Monument and the High Water Mark Monument.
Plate is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. Measures 10” in diameter. Reverse is marked, “OLD ENGLISH STAFFORDSHIRE WARE, JONROTH ENGLAND, MADE IN STAFFORDSHIRE ENGLAND BY ALFRED MEAKIN, IMPORTED EXCLUSIVELY FOR GETTYSBURG NATIONAL MUSEUM, GETTYSBURG, PA”.
