The ribbon has two blue stripes with a gray stripe in the middle. The obverse of the drop has raised busts of Generals Meade and Lee surrounded by “BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG-THE HIGH WATER MARK.” The reverse has crossed Union and Confederate flags at center surmounted by a forage cap. Below the flags is a cannon and drum. The wording on the edge reads “PARTICIPANT CENTENNIAL 1863-1963.”
