Fragment is conical in shape and solid throughout. The section is from the very tip of the nose and meas. approx. 2.50 inches tall x 2.25 inches wide at its base. Fragment was recovered on private property behind the Pennsylvania Monument. The Whitworth was a breech loading cannon imported from England. The Confederates had one battery of them at Gettysburg.
