TINTED GLASS PHOTO OF VIEW FROM LITTLE ROUND TOP

$495.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 172-2781

Image is framed and meas. approx. 12.00 x 10.25 inches. The size of the image itself is 9.50 x 7.50 inches. This photo is printed on glass and has been hand colored or tinted giving it the look of a reverse painting on glass. The view is taken from behind the statue of General Warren looking northwest. The painted caption on the bottom of the photo reads “FROM LITTLE ROUND TOP SHOWING WARREN STATUE & LOOKING OVER VALLEY OF DEATH TO WHEATFIELD & PEACH ORCHARD.” In actuality the image stops short of the Wheatfield, but the northern half of the Peach Orchard as well as the Sherfy, Rogers, Klingle and Codori Farms can be seen.

The colors are bright and vibrant. There are 4 small chips out of the sky and a small area of crackling behind General Warren. If handled carefully this should not get any worse. The wood frame looks to be original to the piece. It is painted gold with scalloped corners. The gold paint on the right border has two small chips otherwise the frame is in good condition. This is the first one of these that we have seen ion a long, long time. A very attractive piece.
