Measures 7 3/8” x 3”, pre-printed in green ink with the bust of a female figure at left. Rinted by Wm Mann, 43 South 4th St, Phila. Dated June 24th, 1869 and made pay to “John S. Willson [?] Sec or bearer ______ “ in the amount of $423.57. 2 cent revenue stamp affixed at upper right corner, also dated June 24, 1869 with the initials “JSN”. Cut cancelled at center. On the reverse is the signature “Jno. C. Sims A.C.”, below which is stamped “AMERICAN LIFE INS. CO. / PHILADELPHIA”; underneath that is stamped “PAY TO THE ORDER OF” G N _____ ___ (signed in ink) “For Collection, for Account of / Corn Exchange National Bank / PHILADELPHIA / W. P. SCHETEY, / CASHIER”. Finally at the bottom is stamped “CREDIT. / York National Bank”, and a final illegible handwritten signature. Overall in excellent condition.
