Very fine condition Civil War period stereoview with minor yellowing / soiling throughout, and minor wear to the corners of the salmon colored mount. Photographer’s label attached to the reverse provides the following information: “TYSON’S STEREOSCOPIC VIEWS. / No. 576. / Battle-field of Gettysburg-Northern portion of Gettysburg, from a position west / of the town, near the Theological Seminary. / PUBLISHED BY C. J. TYSON-Excelsior Galleries, Gettysburg, Pa.”
An excellent view from adjacent to the Seminary looking towards town; the road in the image was an arm of the main Hagerstown Road (Rte 116/Middle St.) and no longer exists.
