Used from August 1, 1865 through Nov. 12, 1865 by Surgeon John M. Dickson. Dickson enlisted 3/14/63 as Assistant Surgeon of the 93rd Pennsylvania Infantry, mustering out on 10/27/64. He then is commissioned Surgeon on 3/18/65 of the 213th PA.
Surgeon Dickson signs each entry in the book. Book is leather covered and embossed on the front with the title, etc. “US ARMY MEDICAL SUPPLIES / PUT UP BY HANCE, GRIFFITSH & CO., / PHILADELPHIA” at bottom. Records who is in hospital, in quarters, taken sick, when returned to duty, discharged, died, etc.
Leather spine with some damage, otherwise very good condition.
